Pindi Zone wins COAS Polo Cup 2006

RAWALPINDI—Rawalpindi Zone lifted the trophy of Chief of Army Staff Polo Cup 2006 by defeating Karachi Zone by scoring ten Goals against Seven and a Half, here on Sunday.
Karachi Zone was declared runners up of the event wherein Rawalpindi Zone team comprised of Maj Gen Omer Bilal Khan, Maj Asif Zahoor, Maj Haseeb Minhas and Brig Sikandar Ali, while Kaarachi Zone comprised of Lt Bilal Hasham, Lt Col Afzal Mehar, Brig Asfand Yar Khan Patudi and Maj Muhammad Kamran Aslam.
Vice Chief of Army Staff, General Ahsan Saleem Hyat,was the Chief guest on this occasion. Sahibzada Yaqub Khan former Foreign Minister gave away the prizes to the winners and runner up team.
Mangla Zone lifted the tent pegging competition. Gujranwala Zone won the low goal championship followed by PAF team. —Agencies
