PPP condemns worsening law, order situation

ISLAMABAD: The Pakistan Peoples party has condemned the worsening law and order situation in the country and called upon the regime to attend o its basic job of ensuring the safety and security of people instead of wasting national resources and time on witch hunting of political opponents. In a statement on Sunday, Raja Pervez Ashraf MNA and deputy parliamentary leader of the Party in the National Assembly said that the law and situation had gone hay wire in the country and the life of no body was safe.
He said the crimes had increased due to mis-governance that had made the life of people miserable while condemning the murder of the brother of a PPP activist in Kharian recently. Kashif Bajwa, brother of Asif Bajwa member PPP USA Human Rights Committee, was shot dead by some unknown assailants riding in a car in Kharian cantt. The assailants came in a car shot him in the head after he answered his bell door at home. The family of the 21 year slain old says it had no enmity with any one and has not named any one in the report. The deceased was a known vocal PPP supporter.
Raja Pervez Ashraf said that the PPP demands the early arrest of the culprits and punishment to them in accordance with the law of the land. He said that worsening law and order situation and increase in the incidence of crimes was the result of unrepresentative government. He said that almost daily the press reported some gruesome murders, dacoity, robbery and assault on minors right under the nose of the law enforcing agencies but the regime failed to take any action against the criminals who were thriving.
The PPP leader demanded zero tolerance for crime, which he said could come when a representative government was in place that was accountable to the people.
