Registration of Afghan citizens begins today

ISLAMABAD—The government is beginning the registration of Afghan citizens in Pakistan from today (October 15), a UNHCR statement said here Saturday.
The drive will continue through December 31, this year and only those Afghans, who were counted in the 2005 census, will be registered and given a Registration card that recognises them as Afghan citizens temporarily living in Pakistan.
Eligible Afghans have been directed to go, along with their whole family members, to the designated NADRA Registration Centres in the area where they took the census.
NADRA Registration Centres have been set up for these refugees in Punjab, the capital territory and Pakistan-administered Kashmir.
In Islamabad, the center has been set up as Sector I-11 Old Bata House near Police Line. The registration at this center will continue till December 31.
In Attock, the center has been set up at NADRA SRC, Hunt Hall Station, near Session Chowk, where the registration will continue till November 17.
In Sheikhupura, the center is located at Union Council 65, Ghung Road Street 3, Mohallah, Rasulpura, District Sheikhupura and the registration there will ends on October 21.
In Lahore, the registration will continue at 15A, Abbot Road till November17. For Afghan refugees in Bhakkar, the center has been opened at District Nazim Complex, where the registration will continue till October 21. In Faisalabad, the registration will ends on October 28, at Sadar Bazar, Ghulam Muhammad Abad
In Sargodha, the process will continue till Oct 30 at Mazhar Hall, Civil Defence near Khayam Chowk. In DG Khan, at Basement of Indus Hotel, near Pul Piary Wali till October 19. In Layyah, the center is located at Behram Khan Seher Auditorium, Govt. Degree College for Boys, near Housing Colony, College Road and the process will end on October 19.
In Multan, the center is located at Hotel Silver Sand, Aziz Hotel Chowk, Railway Road, Multan Cantonment and the process will end on October 19. In Rahim Yar Khan the center is located at Blessing Marriage Hall, near Lever State, Thali Road and the process will end on October 21.
In Bagh Azad Kashmir, the center is located at Mobile Registration Vehicle, near ERRA set-up and the process will end on October 19. In Kotli, the center is located at NADRA District Registration Office, Exchange Road and the process will end on October 21.
