PML-N US holds demo outside UN building against Musharraf
NEW YORK—Pakistan Muslim League Nawaz United States chapter staged a
protest demonstration outside the building of United National
headquarters against President Gen Pervez Musharraf on the seventh
anniversary of coup that brought Musharraf into power in 1999.
The demonstration was attended by all workers of Muslim League, others
organization of community. Large numbers of international and Pakistani
media were present on the occasion.
They were holding banners and placards inscribed with "anti Musharraf
and anti government" slogans.
Addressing on the occasion, President PML USA Rohail Dar vowed to
continue struggle till the restoration of democracy in the country.
He according to reference of resolution moved by Dr. Akram urged United
National General Secretary to play his due role for the restoration of
democracy in Pakistan. UN Secretary General should stress General
Musharraf to hold one post, he added.
Chaudhry Ghulam Gillani in his address criticized President Gen Pervez
Musharraf and said he (Musharraf) for his own interest is weakening the
federation and democratic institutes of the country.
Chaudhry Ghulam Gillani, Mian Sultan Mehmood, Afzal Butt and others
speakers demanded to establish interim government in Pakistan and hold
free and fair next general elections.
They said Mian Muhammad Nawaz Sharif, Quaid PML and Benazir Bhutto
Chairperson Pakistan Peoples Party should be permitted to take part in
next general elections.
The rally was attended and organized by Roheel Daar the president of PML
USA Rana Saeed general secretary Mian Fayyaz DR Khalid Luqman Choudhri
Javed Siddiqi Chaudhry Ghulam Jilani of Gujar Khan.—Agencies |
