S. Arabia to construct 4000 homes in Balakot

ISLAMABAD—Saudia Arabia will construct 4000 new homes for the quake affectees during the phase 1 in quake devastated city of Balakot.
Addressing the ceremony of construction of 4000 homes, Saudi Ambassador Awad Al-Asiri Thursday said that these homes would cost Rs. 16 billion dollars.
He said that according to the agreement 5000 homes were to be built but now we are going to sign the agreement of constructing 4000 homes due to lack of a pre-qualification on behalf of Pakistani construction company.
He said that these homes usually comprising two bedrooms and one kitchen with the covered area of 350 square meters.
He also revealed that construction of homes in Muzaffarabad will be carried out in the next phase.
Director General Monitoring and Evaluation Sher Afgan Niazi said that the homes would be useful for twenty years and have the capacity to stand against the harsh weather.
Sher Afgan Niazi also appreciated role of Saudi Government for their consist help for affectees and lauded the efforts of Saudi Ambassador in Pakistan.
