APHC-AJK stages sit-in against death
sentence of Afzal Guru
ISLAMABAD—All Parties Hurriyat Conference Azad Kashmir chapter has
observed a sit-in Thursday in front of Indian embassy against the death
sentence of Muhammad Afzal Guru who implicated wrongly in the 2001
Indian Parliament attack.
The protestors who hold banners and placards which condemned severely
the death sentence awarded by Indian government and expressed concern
over the human rights violations committed by the Indian forces in
Occupied Kashmir.
APHC AJK also staged a walk started from Foreign Office and concluded at
Indian embassy.
Convener of APHC Yousaf Muhammad Naseem while addressing on the occasion
said that by involving Afzal Guru unjustly in the parliament attack
case, the Indian government wants to defame Pakistan and freedom
fighters and trying to stamp the indigenous movement as terrorism.
Leaders of APHC included Prof. Muhammad Ashraf Saraf, Mir Tahir Masood,
Syed Saeed Naqshbandi, Muhammad Saleem Wani, Malik Abdul Hameed, Syed
Abbass Rizwi, Dr. Abdul Hai, Muhammad Daud Khan, Sohail Altaf Butt,
Abdul Hameed, Mehmood Ahmad Sagar and Muhammad Rafique Dar also
addressed on the occasion.
They on the occasion stressed the international community to
differentiae self-determination movement with the scourge of terrorism.
They said that India on the one side befooling the world community by
involved in the so-called negotiations with Pakistan and on the other
hand Muhammad Afzal Guru awarded death sentence.
Kashmiri leaders said that the decision would give a new strength to
Kashmir struggle, adding that Kashmir struggle would continue as 0.5
million Kashmiri people scarified their lives for independence.
They demanded a judicial investigation commission of Pakistan and India
for the release of Muhammad Afzal Guru. —Agencies |
