MMA to form alliance other parties of the ARD, if PP not agrees

OKARA—Central leader, Muttahida Majils-e-Amal (MMA) Liaquat Baloch said Wednesday that if People's Party did not agree to constitute Grand Alliance with MMA then it would opt to form the alliance with the PML-N and other parties of ARD.
Addressing a press conference here, Baloch said the meeting between Benazir Bhutto and Mian Nawaz Sharif was being held over one-point agenda i.e. Grand Opposition Alliance.
He said that the government cannot table the Women's Rights Bill in the assembly and if it does, it would be tantamount to contempt of court.
On the issues of President Musharraf's book 'In the Line of Fire' and the women's bill, MMA would take recourse to the court, adding, he said that in this regard, due consultation with lawyers is under way.
"By canvassing quake-affected people for PML (Q), President Pervez Musharraf is inflicting injury to their already agonized memories," he added.—Agencies
