Fans gather to mark John Lennon's birthday

NEW YORK—John Lennon fans gathered in Central Park on Monday to celebrate what would have been his 66th birthday.
The fans, some of whom weren't born when Lennon was killed in 1980, placed flowers and candles in the Strawberry Fields section of the park and sang his songs.
Lennon was shot to death on Dec. 8, 1980, in front of his apartment at the Dakota building, across the street from where the fans remembered him Monday.—Agencies
