Decision on resignations after consulting
opposition parties: MMA
OKARA—The government is frantically utilizing all its resources to
create rift among the opposition parties.
These views were expressed by the MMA leader Hafiz Hussain Ahmad while
talking to a delegation of the union of journalists district Okara who
called on him here on Tuesday.
Hafiz Hussain Ahmad said the government had been releasing negative
statements by its ministers to create hurdles in the way of grand
alliance because it knew the day would be its last day when the grand
opposition would tender collective resignations.
"MMA will decide about tendering resignations after consulting
opposition parties," he added
Responding to a question, he said, MMA had never supported Gen. Pervez
Musharraf. He said the MMA got approved LFO (Legal framework order) from
the parliament under an agreement with President Gen. Pervez Musharraf
who later violated it," he added.
He further said that MMA was hopeful with regard to the 2007 general
elections. " We enjoy majority in NWFP and Balochistan and we will not
allow Musharraf to be made president for the second time," he added.
