Decision on resignations after consulting opposition parties: MMA

OKARA—The government is frantically utilizing all its resources to create rift among the opposition parties.
These views were expressed by the MMA leader Hafiz Hussain Ahmad while talking to a delegation of the union of journalists district Okara who called on him here on Tuesday.
Hafiz Hussain Ahmad said the government had been releasing negative statements by its ministers to create hurdles in the way of grand alliance because it knew the day would be its last day when the grand opposition would tender collective resignations.
"MMA will decide about tendering resignations after consulting opposition parties," he added
Responding to a question, he said, MMA had never supported Gen. Pervez Musharraf. He said the MMA got approved LFO (Legal framework order) from the parliament under an agreement with President Gen. Pervez Musharraf who later violated it," he added.
He further said that MMA was hopeful with regard to the 2007 general elections. " We enjoy majority in NWFP and Balochistan and we will not allow Musharraf to be made president for the second time," he added. —Online
