NA body to visit sites of housing societies in Capital

ISLAMABAD—The National Assembly Standing Committee on Government Assurance has decided to visit the sites of all housing societies in Federal Capital as well as to investigate all matters of housing societies.
This was decided in a meeting of said committee held here on Tuesday under the chairmanship of Haji Khuda Bux Nizamani, Member National Assembly (MNA) to discuss a calling attention notice moved by Sardar Bahadur Ahmed Khan Sihar MNA regarding massive violation of law by administrations of cooperative housing societies in Islamabad.
The committee was briefed by the representatives of Jammu and Kashmir Housing Society and Jeddah Tower Islamabad about the matters of their housing societies.
The administration of both the societies contended that they were performing in accordance with the laid down procedures and to the entire satisfaction of their members.
They apprised the committee about the development work done and being carried out in both housing societies.
The committee was not satisfied with the explanation rendered by administration of the societies and decided that the committee will physically visit the sites of both the societies in order to see the ground realties.
