382 health units to be reconstructed within three years
Overall performance in quake-hit areas satisfactory

 Islamabad—Chairman ERRA, Altaf Saleem said Sunday overall performance for relief and rehabilitation in quake-hit areas remained satisfactory during the year.Talking to a private news channel (ARYONE) he said, there were 350,0000 people without any social commodity. They were protected from the extreme weather.
He said second challenge was that the infrastructure was completely destroyed. He said 6000 schools and entire health sector was destroyed besides damage to water supply and sanitation system.Chairman ERRA said 100 percent schools have been resettled. 100 percent health facilities have also been made available in the affected areas, he added.He said third challenge was about house reconstruction and added survey
of 600000 houses has been completed, and 90 percent people have been given the compensation. 30 percent people have started reconstruction of their houses.Another important development was provision of transitional housing to the people in tents, he said and added nearly 95 percent people have been provided with transitional houses.
Moreover, About 382 health units would be reconstructed in eight districts of quake-hit areas of Azad Kashmir and NWFP within a period of three years.Consultant health sector Earthquake Reconstruction and Rehabilitation Authority (ERRA) Dr Mateen Haider Sunday told PTV that the reconstruction work in 139 health units would be completed this year.
