Pakistani women can make waves in all spheres: Nilofar

ISLAMABAD—Minister for Tourism Nilofar Bakhtiar has said that the Pakistani women have potential to make waves in all spheres of life.
She was talking to Numira Salim, the first person from the Middle East and Asia selected as an astronaut to go into space in the Virgin Galactic Space Ship in 2008, who called on her here Monday.
The Minister said the world would witness Pakistani women could stand by their male peers in all fields.
She said the space venture of first Pakistani woman would set a new direction for other Pakistani women and encourage them utilize all their talent to the fullest.
Nilofar said Numira Salim would participate in world tourism events as a tourism ambassador of Pakistan. Numira Salim on the occasion said her strong resolve led her to become first female Pakistani astronaut.
She said she looked forward to realise her vision with Virgin Galactic being the only company in the world with a safe and tested prototype of a private spacecraft. Numira said she has long played the role of a goodwill and peace ambassador; her art has been exhibited during top humanitarian summits at the United Nations, Unesco and during the historic Saarc Summit in Pakistan two years ago.
Numira, is an artist presently based in the South of France. She has also made her mark on the international scene as a talented and internationally accomplished artist with a strong commitment to the arts and humanity.
