Shiv Sena vows to dig up Mohali pitch if Pak allowed to play
New Delhi: The Shiv Sena on Sunday threatened it would dig up the
cricket pitch in Mohali to protest against Pakistan cricket team playing
in India in the ongoing ICC Champions Trophy.
In a statement in New Delhi on Sunday, Sena’s northern India incharge
and Delhi unit president Jai Bhagwan Goyal said the party would not
allow Pakistan to play in the country after the disclosures made
recently by the Mumbai Police Commissioner about ISI’s involvement in
the July 7, Mumbai serial blast.
The Sena alleged the 17 Pakistani citizens who had come to watch cricket
had gone missing and were even involved in the terrorist attack at the
Indian Institute of Science, Bangalore hence demanded the government to
forthwith cancel the Pakistan-New Zealand match on October 25 at Mohali.
"Otherwise our activists in Punjab and Haryana would be forced to go to
any extent to stop the Pakistanis from playing on Indian soil," the Sena
warned. |
