One-minute silence observed across the country

MUZAFFARABAD: One-minute silence was observed across the country at 8:52 am on Sunday in memory of those killed in the devastating earthquake one year ago.
During the silence people stood up to pay homage to those who lost their lives in earthquake while on the other hand the traffic throughout the country was standstill.
Earlier, the day downed with special prayers at the mosques. President General Pervez Musharraf along with Prime Minister Azad Jammu and Kashmir Sardar Attiqu Ahmad Khan and President AJK Raja Zulqarnain Haider also observed one-minute silence in Muzaffarabad.
They also laid floral wreath on the monuments of Shuhada-e-Azad Kashmir. Meanwhile AJK Religious Affairs Minister Hafiz Hamid Raza prayed for the departed soul who lost their lives in October 8 earthquake.
