Social Welfare Ministry clarifies news item

ISLAMABAD: Minister for Social Welfare and Special Education clarified the news item appearing in a section of press in response to the complaint lodged by Ms. Amna Sohrab's aunt, the Ministry took the girl from SOS village and handed her over to her aunt in the presence of representative of Police and ERRA in the Ministry of Social Welfare.
The Spokesman told APP here Sunday that the girl was handed over to SOS with the consent of her aunt in the best interest of the orphan girl. However, as soon as her aunt expressed her desire to take back the girl, the Ministry fully cooperated and facilitated the process of handing over the girl to her aunt.
In this connection, the Spokesman added that there was no directive issued by the Chief Justice of Pakistan neither to the Ministry nor to the Police as has been reported in a section of press.
