20 varsities selected for promotion of IT

Islamabad—State Minister for Information Technology (IT) and Telecommunication Ishaq Khakwani Saturday said that they had selected 20 universities throughout the country in which they would focus to develop IT and telecom sector
He said government would provide all the facilities regarding infrastructure, faculty, labs and funds.
“We had selected these universities and would meet their requirements”, he added.
He said, government’s policy for telecom sector was so comprehensive that Norway is investing in Pakistan on huge level in this sector, adding they are presently investing in 13 countries and Pakistan is one of them. It shows that Pakistan is investment friendly country, he added.
He said, almost 1400 Pakistani are employed in Telenor offices and almost 10,000 people are directly or indirectly linked with them.
Telenor is growing very fast in Pakistan and they are achieving their targets very quickly, he added.
Ishaq Khakwani said, main thing which is attracting investors in Pakistan is transparency in all the policies and equal opportunities provided to all.—APP
