8 killed in
sectarian row in Orakzai Agency
ORAKZAI—Eight more people are feared dead as armed clashes between Shia
and Sunni over controversial shrine in Tehsil of Lower Orakzai agency
continued for the third consecutive day on Thursday.
As per details, the sectarian clashes continued in Kalyial, Tehsil of
Lower Orakzai Agency over disputed Mian Anwar Shrine while both sects
are involved in intense fighting for the control of the shrine due to
which 8 more people reportedly have been killed.
It is merit mentioning that clashes between Ahl-e-Sunnat and Shia
started after tribes men of one sect tried to enter in locality of
disputed shrine.
According to another report, tribe men of one sect fired several rockets
here in village of Mashti Mela, Sangra due to which shrine of Syed
Khalil Baba martyred besides injuring three people including a women.
Meanwhile, Grand Jirga of Political administration continued in
headquarters of Orakzai agency for a ceasefire between two sects.
Local people of the area have started evacuation, whereas people are
disappointed that the grand jirga would fail to convince tribe men of
