Terror plot foiled, two rockets defused near Parliament

ISLAMABAD—Law enforcement agencies foiling a major terrorism plot in the federal capital have recovered two issiles near the Parliament Lodges on Thursday morning.
These missiles were erected on a stand facing towards the Aiwan-e-Sadr, Parliament House and Prime Minister House.
According to police, Secretariat police station received an anonymous phone call that missiles have been erected in an area near the Parliament Lodges. Police upon receiving the information sealed the entire area and closed the area for all kind of traffic.
According to police officials, two missiles of one and a half feet were recovered from the area erected on a stand facing towards the Aiwan-e-Sadr, Parliament House and Prime Minister House. Bomb disposal squad defused the missiles.
Security agencies have cordoned off the entire area in which Parliament House, Aiwan-e-Sadr, PM House, parliament Lodges, Secretariat buildings and a five star hotel are situated.
During search operation the police also arrested 80 labourers from the area and shifted them to an undisclosed location.
Investigations have been launched into the incident.—Agencies
