SC orders DNA test of Mehnaz Fatima

ISLAMABAD—Supreme Court (SC) has ordered the DNA test of Mehnaz Fatima on the suspicion of having illicit relations with District Nazim, Abbas Rizwi.
The two-member bench of SC comprised of Chief Justice Iftikhar Muhammad Ch. and Justice Muhammad Nawaz Abassi in its remarks said that court cannot close its eyes to murder and justice would be done and the DNA test should be performed on Mehnaz Fatima irrespective of whether she wants to get the test done or not.
Earlier, DPO Okara, Dr. Usman told the court that DNA test could not be conducted due to refusal of Mehnaz Fatima. He said that guards have been provided for the protection of Mehnaz Fatima.
The Chief Justice inquired DPO that Shehnaz Fatima was murdered but no protection was provided to her.
DPO told that the daughter of Mehnaz Fatima was in the custody of her Grandmother.
Mehnaz Fatima who was also present on the occasion that she patched up the dispute as my sister was killed due to her that case and expressed her fear that she would also be killed. She said that five months have been passed and no action has been taken against accused.
The Chief Justice on the refusal of Mehnaz Fatima conducting DNA test commented the case cannot be retracted after filing applications, adding that protection would be provided to Mehnaz Fatima.
After the hearing, the Supreme Court directed DPO Okara to conduct the DNA form KRL Hospital test and present the report on November 6.
