Shooting camp for Asian Games from 5th

KARACHI—The national shooting camp for Doha AsianGames will be held simultaneously at Islamabad Gun Club and Naval ShootingRange here from October 5, National Rifle Association of Pakistan (NRAP)announced Tuesday.
13 top sharp shooters in pistol, Skeet (shotgun) and rifle has alreadybeen selected to represent Pakistan in the continental games schedule to beheld in Qatar from December 1 to 15, Secretary NRAP Khalid Javed told APP.
While pistol and rifle camp will be conducted in Islamabad, skeet campwill be held at Naval Shooting range, he said. Six shooters in pistol including a lady and three in rifle will attend the camp in Islamabad where Col. Raza Abbas is camp commandant.
Chinese coaches Feng Shi (pistol) Phen Shiping (rifle) will supervise the training camp. The skeet camp attended by four shooters will be supervised by International Sports Shooting Federation approved coach Razi Ahmed Khan.
NRAP Secretary said Pakistani shooters have never won a medal in their previous four attempts in Asian Games but added that skeet shooters can grab a medal if they performed to their full potential and supported by luck.
He said double olympian Khurram Inam with Ahmed Sultan, Muhammad Shafique and Amin Karamat will lead Pakistan challenge in Asian Games. NRAP official said, rifle shooters will be may be inducted in the squad if they really performed well in the camp. He said as compared to Commonwealth Games, standard of shooting much high in Asian with China, Japan, India, Gulf countries, Central Asian Republics in fray.
Shooters picked for Asian Games are: Pistol: Irshad Ali, Mustaqeem Shah, Maqbool Hussain Tabbasum, Muhammad Boota Afsar Khan (men) and Mehwish Maqsood (woman). Rifle: Ayaz Tahir, Shahzada Umar, Muhammad Mushtaq. Shotgun (skeet): Khurram Inam, Ahmed Sultan, Muhammad Shafique and Amin Karamat. —Agencies
