27 Pakistanis arrested on Iran border

TAFTAN—Iranian border force Sunday arrested 27 Pakistani nationals over trespassing into Iran and handed them over to Taftan Levies, official sources said.
"These people are arrested over trespassing into Iran without valid travel documents," a Levies official said adding that these men were intended to travel further to Europe via Turkey.
"This has become a common practice here.very often they (Iranian forces) arrest Pakistanis over trespassing charges and hand them over to us," the official added.
The arrested Pakistanis were handed over to Levies Force at border town of Taftan.
According to Levies official most of these people are from lower middle or poor class and were intended to enter into Europe illegally while crossing Iran, Turkey into Greece.
He said most of these people were arrested at some stage of their adventure and have had to face jails and in some cases people even lose their lives.
The official said the arrested men would be handed over to immigration authorities of Federal Investigation Agency, who will formally charge them under Foreigners Act.—Agencies
