By Asim Hussain
ISLAMABAD—Dr. Haji Abdullah Syukri Zarkasi, Head, Ulema Council of
Indonesia and Director, Darussalam Islamic Centre for Teaching of Hadith,
visited the International Islamic University Islamabad (IIUI) and called
on Dr. Zafar Ishaq Ansari, President IIUI, Dr. Anwar Hussain Siddiqui,
Vice President (Admin), Dr. Khalifa Hasan, Vice President (Academic) and
Dr. Abdul Khaliq Kazi, Dean Faculty of Islamic Studies.
30 Indonesian students of Dr. Zakasi's Centre are already enrolled in
various study programmes at IIUI while efforts are underway to increase
their number in next admission season. Dr. Zakasi asked the University
administration to help Indonesian students in getting NOC from the
Pakistani ministry of interior and welcome students from Indonesia who
love to study in Pakistan. Making a comparison of the cost of education
in Pakistan and Indonesia, he revealed that education in Pakistan is
better standard wise and reasonable financially. He said that education
expenses in Pakistan are equal to the half of that in Indonesia .
About his visit of the University, Dr. Zakasi said that the logic of my
visit is strengthening diplomatic relations between two brotherly
countries through academic ties.
Dr. Zafar Ishaq Ansari, President IIUI, assured the visiting dignitary
of his full cooperation in getting maximum number of Indonesian students
admitted in IIUI. |
