No progress without educational development: Minister

ISLAMABAD—The Federal Minister for Social Welfare and Population Chaudhry Shahbaz Hussain has said that development and progress of the Country depends upon the educational caliber of masses.
While addressing the inaugural of a 3-day International Mathematics Conference at the Quaid-e-Azam University, he lauded the Department of Mathematics as an important source of producing highly educated and capable persona.
The Minister said that no progress and development is possible in the world today without sufficient knowledge and education of science and technology, and termed mathematics as mother of all prevalent sciences.
He said that government is paying special attention towards its budgetary concerns in the field of education since the past five years, and as a result Nation is being blessed with some really conducive minds.
He said that he was personally quite detached from Mathematics but however it is universally acknowledged that mathematics holds a primary position among the sciences, and lauded Quaid-e-Azam University for holding International Conference in Mathematics.
Speaking on the occasion, Vice Chancellor Quaid-E-Azam University, Dr. Qasim Jan said that the University formed in 1967 was dispensing some real-time services in the field of Higher education, while its department of Mathematics has emerged as its best department. He said that the future 15-year old plan envisaged an important project for the department.
Among other luminaries who attended the Conference, were Head of the Mathematics Department Dr. Yaqoob Nasir, Dr. Tassawar Hayat, German Todder Zemarisco, and Russian Enorobic Mermenor, South African Dr. Abdul Hameed, and global mathematicians and senior professors.
The concluding session of this International moot on Mathematics would end on 14th September, at 1600 hrs, and would be presided over by State Minister for Education, Anisa Zeb Tahir Kheli.
