By Saad Saud

ISLAMABAD—Minister for Inter-provincial Coordination, Saleem Saifullah while lauding the efforts of President General Pervez Musharraf for the uplift of Balochistan said some local leaders were not happy over the improvement in situation.
"The government has kept its focus on Balochistan since President General Pervez Musharraf came in power but some Baloch leaders were opposed to the change from day one", the Minister told a private television channel.
He said the government wanted to settle the matters through politcal dialogue with Baloch leaders including Akbar Bugti, who did not cooperate.
Akbar Bugti and his associates not only adopted the policy of confrontation against the government, but also targeted the national assets and innocents people.
In such a situation, it was need of the hour to establish the writ of the government, he said, adding the actions against the miscreants in Balochistan were right.
He said President Pakistan Muslim League, Chaudhary Shujaat Hussain and different political leaders held meetings with Akbar Bugti but he failed to cooperate for the resolution of political differences through negotiations.
