Pakistan, China enjoy excellent brotherly ties: Tariq Azeem

ISLAMABAD—Minister of State for Information and Broadcasting Tariq Azeem
Monday said state-run television channels of Pakistan and China have
been engaged in close technical cooperation, promoting the existing
excellent relations between the two countries.
He was speaking at a ceremony where a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU)
between Pakistan Television Corporation and China Central Television was
signed.
Pakistan and China will further enhance co-production and exchange of
programmes, boost technical facilities and Pakistani participation in
Chinese TV festivals, he said.
Tariq Azeem said the agreement would help further development of
friendship and understanding between the peoples of the two countries
through collaboration between the TV media.
He said exchanges of TV crews would also be organized to produce
documentaries on latest developments in both the countries.
The Minister of State said national days of both the countries would be
celebrated on the PTV and CCTV which would bring people of the two
countries closer to each other. President CCTV Huayong Zhad said
Pakistan and China have a 55-year history of mutual trust and
cooperation.
He said electronic media was increasing its interaction with each
passingday and there was a need to further promote relationship between
mainstream media organizations of the two countries. Zhad said the
agreement marks the 55th anniversary of diplomatic relations between two
brotherly countries who always stood side by side through thick and
thin.
MD PTV Muhammad Ashraf Azeem and President CCTV Huayong Zhad signed the
MoU. The members of the Chinese delegation and officials of PTV were
also present on the occasion.
The CCTV is the national television network of China which has 15
channels broadcasting more than 150 hours of programmes daily. It has a
TV play production centre and two film studios as well as outdoor sets
and facilities.
Zhad presented to Tariq Azeem a documentary depicting Chinese culture
and traditions. |
