Shakira wants to make a Bollywood music video
Pop singer Shakira's performance at the recent MTV Awards, in which she
moved her hips in Bollywood style, have sparked a new interest from the
star who has said she wants to make a Bollywood music video.
Shakira is hoping that top Bollywood dance and film director, Farah
Khan, who worked with her on the awards night performance, can help her
make this a reality.
Shakira received seven nominations at the New York ceremony, however,
she only won best choreography for Hips Don't Lie. Shakira wore a dress
similar to a sari but adapted for some hip swivelling moves in Bollywood
style.
"When we were rehearsing for the performance, she said we must do a
video together," Ms Khan said.
She said I must come over and work with her when she does a Bollywood
style music video. Let's see when that happens."
Ms Khan added that even though she had worked for a short time with
Shakira the night before the MTV Awards, the singer had picked up the
Bollywood steps quite quickly.
"Shakira is one of the most fabulous dancers in the world now, and since
the performance was highly talked about, there was tremendous pressure
to do well," Farah Khan said. —Agencies |
