In his message on the occasion of Quaid's 58th death anniversary, President Musharraf said with his honesty, courage and convection, the Father of the Nation laid the firm foundations of Islamic republic of Pakistan. ""We have to work hard with full dedication and discipline for successful implementation of the Quaid's mission."
He said: "The passage of time cannot him our profound gratitude to him for leading the Pakistan Movement to victory in creating a separate sovereign state and a secure homeland for the South Asian Muslims.
"We are persistently pursuing the Quaid's agenda to build Pakistan of his dream. The comprehensive reforms undertaken by the present government in all vital sectors of national life are testimony of our sincere committeemen to Ideology of Pakistan."
"On this day, let us pledge that we shall serve Pakistan without any selfish motive, shunning vested interests and proposal ambitions to devote our lives to build Pakistan as a still greater nation a home of proud people striving in fraternal freedom, true equality, justice and economic prosperity. In this way can pay the greatest tribute to the sacred memory of our beloved Quaid-e-Azam Mohammad Ali Jinnah, the father and Founder of Pakistan."
In a separate message Prime Minister Shaukat Aziz said: "Today, we observe the death anniversary of a great man who single handedly molded the destiny of millions of people and founded a state without shedding a drop of blood.
"It was unwavering faith in his mission, his unshakable commitment to oral ends and ethical values that made it possible for him to create a new nation out of an exhausted and disarrayed people. There is no doubt that the entire history cannot match the achievement of this great man, whom the nation, out of sheer reverence and respects, remembers as a great leader."
He said: "Quaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah was a man of indomitable character - a character that had been praised both by his admirers as well as by his adversaries. Being an ardent believer in the supremacy of law, he fought the entire battle for Pakistan within the precincts of constitutions and law. He never compromised on principles come what may, nor did he ever care for the price he had to pay for pursuing his principled stand. Had he ever given a thought to this he would not have neglected his health, which had been badly affected by his labor and led to this demise, only thirteen months after the creation of Pakistan.
The Quaid had his own ideals for Pakistan, which, if pursued, would have earned a respectable place for us among the comity of developed nations.
Our government has been endeavoring to translate every ideal of the Quaid into reality. We have introduced a series of reforms in the light of his vision at every level of governance and in all walks of national life. Spread over seven years, our efforts bore fruits. Alhamdo-lillah, There is a marked change in our society. Today Pakistan is moving fast on its way to self-reliance; our defence is impregnable, our economy is strong and our democratic institutions have taken deep roots, and democratic and social norms are valued in the country. The people of Pakistan now take pride in being a Pakistani. We are currently on our way to deliver fruits of progress to every member of the society.
We consider this befitting tribute that we can pay to our founding father."
On this day, we pledge to continue our journey to make Pakistan an enlightened, forward looking, developed Islamic democratic welfare state as envisioned by Quaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinah.
May Allah Almighty be with us, Ameen!
