PRCS hands over Rs10 m relief goods to Lebanese Envoy

ISLAMABAD—Pakistan Red Crescent Society Chairman Saeed Ahmad Qureshi Wednesday handed over Rs. 10 million relief goods to Lebanese Ambassador H.E Wafiq Rahieme for the people of Lebanon who were badly affected by Israeli war.
These relief goods were handed over a t a ceremony held at Pakistan Red Crescent Society National Headquarters.
The ceremony was attended by Pakistan Red Crescent Society Managing Body Members Major Gen. (Retd) Ch Muhammad Nawaz, Abdul Kamal, Mian Javed, , Secretary general Khalid Kibriya, Director Operation Muhammad Ilyas Khan and other staff members.
Speaking at the handing over ceremony, Lebanese Ambassador Wafiq Rafiq Rahieme said that the government and people of Lebanon are thankful to Pakistan Red Crescent Society would help alleviate the sufferings of the affected people and this shows the love of the people of Pakistan with their Lebanese Brethren in distress.
Wafiq Rahieme said that people are returning to their villages but we are still facing problems due to sea and air blockades by the Israel.
He said that he is hopeful that Israel will respect to the commitment made to international community for a lasting peace in the region.
Speaking at the Occasion Pakistan Red Crescent Society Chairman Saeed Ahmad Qureshi said that PRCS stands with the people of Lebanon in this hour of need and this relief consignment is a taken of love for the Lebanese brethrens.
Saeed Qureshi said that the relief good includes 5000 blankets, 1000 jackets and 102 cartons of medicines worth Rs 10 million.
Qureshi said that Pakistan Red Crescent Society expressed its heartfelt grief and sympathy with the Lebanese brethrens that were hard hit by conflict situation.
