Bye-polls if Opposition resigns: Durrani

ISLAMABAD—Federal Minister for Information and Broadcasting Muhammad Ali Durrani Tuesday expressed the government resolve that bye-elections will be held on the seats fall vacant after the opposition members tender their resignations.
"Bye-elections will be held on the seats fall vacant after theopposition's members resign and no one would be allowed to derail the democratic set up", Durrani told newsmen at the Aiwan-e-Sadr, He said the provincial government was quite vigilant to maintain law and order situation in Balochistan and warned that no body would be allowedake the law into hands and to play with the lives and property of the masses.
To a question, he said that those who were involved in arms and ammunition trafficking would no longer escaped from the clutches of the law.
"We welcome the opposition's positive criticism on the government, it is their democratic right, but the anti-state activities and terrorism would not be allowed under the cover of politics and such activist would e dealt sternly", he remarked.
The patriot people would themselves deal with those who were passing remarks against the solidarity and security of the country. He added that those who were aiding the anti-state elements would have to be answerable to the masses during the next general elections. Because, he said the people had never supported those who spokes against the integrity of the country and they would be rejected in the election.
The government, he said instead of leveling counter allegations was showing restraint and decency aimed at reducing the feelings of hatred and setting up of a society based on brotherhood.
The opposition, he said, side by side with the government equally shared the responsibility of putting in struggle for the security and stability of the country, therefore the opposition should get rid of the negative politics and adopt their positive role.
