Indian Muslims protest against Vande Mataram singing

ISLAMABAD—In India the president of Uttar Pradesh Imams Organisation Mufti Zulfiqar has said forcing people to sing Vande Mataram would create more controversy.
According to the web edition of Times of India he said nobody should be forced to sing the song.
Darul Uloom Deoband has alleged that some Hindu organisations including BJP are creating an emotive issue on the singing of Vande Mataram to divide communities for their vested interest.
He said Vande Mataram was under controversy since 1876 as it was against the tenets of the Shariat law to worship sky and soil.—APP
