Afghan soil being used against Pakistan: FO

ISLAMABAD—Pakistan has said government of Afghanistan is not involved in deteriorating the situation in Balochistan, however, territory of Afghanistan is being used against Pakistan.
This was said by foreign office spokesperson in weekly press briefing here Monday.
Replying to a question, she said Afghan government is not involved in Balochistan situation. However, Afghanistan soil is being used against Pakistan. The main reason behind it is the long porous border and we are taking certain steps to stop infiltration.
The spokesperson said President Musharraf will attend non aligned countries conference taking place in Havana, Cuba. Indian prime minister will also proceed to Cuba to participate in the conference. He is likely to meet President Musharraf there. However, no formal request has been received from India in this respect.
Spokesperson said if both the leaders meet they will hold talks on resumption of composite dialogue process. President Musharraf will also undertake visit of Kabul. But date has not been set so far in this connection. He is going to Kabul on the invitation of Afghan president Hamid Karzai.
She informed that Pakistani pilgrims had proceeded to Syria and they went up to Iraq from there through agents. " We have asked Pakistanis not to travel to Iraq as security situation is worst over there", she added.
Responding to a query the spokesperson said interior ministry was considering the request of British government that Rashid Rauf be handed over to them. We will have to see the procedure on this count. The talks with the British government on extradition treaty are underway.
To another question, she said the thrust of US-Pakistan joint naval exercises is to boost cooperation in war against terrorism. These are being conducted on the basis of mutual understanding and cooperation.
She indicated Pakistan has not so far taken any decision on sending troops to Lebanon.
President North Cyprus, Muhammad Ali Talat visit to Pakistan is not official as we don't recognize this country.
She underlined that dialogue process between Pakistan and India should not have been derailed. It should continue under the accord as peace process is in our interest.
The spokesperson told Baglihar dam issue is still with neutral expert. Decision in this regard can come by the end of this year.
She reiterated no Pakistani organisation is involved in Mumbai bomb blasts. These are unfounded allegations, which have been leveled by India. We condemn terrorism in all its forms and manifestations. Our moves speak well against the terrorism.
