Govt accords top priority to national integrity: Sarwar

ISLAMABAD—Federal Minister for Labour, Manpower and Overseas Pakistanis Ghulam Sarwar said Sunday government accorded top priority to protection of people's rights and upholding national integrity.
Addressing a public gathering in Taxila, the minister said it would not be in national interest if action, in line with constitution, was not taken against those who were damaging national assets and achieving their rights at gun point despite democratic means.
He said the opposition should show responsibilities and give priority to national interest, adding that holding protests and strikes did not lead to prosperity of the country.
He said the government allocated an amount of Rs. 117 billion fordevelopment of the Balochistan and built three cadet colleges, nine dams besides 30,000 jobs for people of the province.
He said the opposition should appreciate the government's efforts which aimed at prosperity and development of the province.
He said that every residential area of Taxila would be enjoying every basic facility of life by 2007 and announced a High School for Jalala union council of Taxila Tehsil Nazim Saddiq Khan also spoke on the occasion and announced an amount of Rs. 10 million for developmental projects of the area.
