Darrel Hair controversy-Let bygones be bygones: PM

LONDON—Shaukat Aziz, Prime Minister in a meeting with the national cricket team in the backdrop of the Darrel Hair umpiring controversy here at the home of cricket Lords Cricket Ground urged for accelerated preparations for better performance in the next year's ICC Cricket World Cup and forget the unpleasant incident.
Prime Minister Shaukat Aziz met with the national team members on the occasion of 2nd One-Day International (ODI) with the host England on Saturday.
Chairman Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) Sharyar Khan, Manager Zaheer Abbas and other officials were also present at the meeting.
The PM was briefed by Chairman Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) Sharyar Khan on the Darrel Hair umpiring controversy and directed to pursue the case in the right direction. The PM urged the team to forget the unpleasant incident and pay their full attention to preparation for the next year's world cup. "The nation carries high hopes about you in the World Cup".
He stressed the team to focus on fitness as time is closing in on the World Cup and the competition is tough.
On the occasion of Prime Minister Shaukat Aziz's visit to the Lords Stadium, British Security Authorities had made top-notch security arrangements. The PM spent more than two hours at the stadium.—Online
