President to meet Bush on 22nd

NEW YORK—President Gen Pervez Musharraf would meet US President George W Bush on September 22 at the White House while on September 19 they would informally meet during the United Nations General Assembly session.
According to reliable sources, President Musharraf would be arriving in New York on September 17 to attend the UN General Assembly session. President Musharraf would be addressing the UN GA session on September 19 and would also informally meet US President Bush.
President would leave for Washington on the next night and would meet US Congress members Dick Cheney, US Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice.
He would formally meet US President Bush on September 22 at the White House after which both the leaders would address a joint press conference. The talk between the two leaders is likely to be focused on situation in Iran and Afghanistan as well as Pak-India standoff.
President Musharraf would also address the Pakistani community on the same evening and would arrive back in New York.
He would again leave for Washington on September 24 and would attend a dinner hosted by President Bush in the honour of President Musharraf at the White House which would also be attended by Afghan President Hamid Karzai.
Observers say that President Musharraf’s visit to US is of utmost importance and would yield long term results.
