EOSLO, (Norway) Sept 1 (APP): Prime Minister Shaukat Aziz Friday said the government of Pakistan Muslim League was striving hard for the progress and prosperity of the country and providing basic amenities of life to the people at their doorstep.
The Prime Minister while talking to a delegation of PML, Norway here at Oslo, said that PML under Chaudhry Shujaat Hussain as its President has introduced decency in the politics.
Shaukat Aziz said Pakistani community, where ever they are, have been working very hard and contributing in the national development. He said expatriates always played important role in economic development of the country through their remittances.
Appreciating the role of Pakistani community in the development of Norway, the Prime Minister said participation of Prime Minister of Norway Jens Stoltenberg in the function of Pakistani community the other day and attending the Independence Day celebrations by the King of Norway was clear indication that the community is vibrant and had unique position here.
Shaukat Aziz said due to liberal and investment friendly policies of the government, a number of international investors are investing in Pakistan. He especially mentioned the investment of Telenor in Pakistan and said the Norwegian company has invested dollars 600 million and soon increase this investment to dollars one billion.
The cogent policies of the government of Pakistan were being acknowledged by the world and thus respect and honour of the country has been increased, he added.
The Prime Minister said there are many areas, where the Pakistani expatriates could invest in Pakistan and added that the government would provide them due protection and assistance in this regard.
He urged the members of the PML to have unity among their ranks and prove a symbol of unity for others. He asked them to arrange functions here in Oslo, in connection with centenary celebrations of PML with a view to highlight the importance of Pakistan Movement and sacrifices rendered by the leader of PML for the independence.
Shaukat Aziz urged the Pakistani community to resolve their differences and project the name of their motherland with their good deeds and acts.
Earlier, Qaiser Saeed, representing the PML delegation informed the Prime Minister that there are over 30,000 Pakistanis living in Norway and contributing positively in the economic development of the country here.
The PML delegation also reposed its confidence in the leadership of PML President Chaudhry Shujaat Hussain, Secretary General Senator Mushahid Hussain Sayed and other leaders of the PML.
They also highlighted various problems being faced by the Pakistani community.
