Tanushree Dutta having good takes
Bollywood Desk

BOMBAY—This small town girl from Jamshedpur made it big in the world of glitz and glamour when she was crowned Miss India. Just two films old in Bollywood, and she is already bagging some of the good ventures on the strength of her attitude and smile, that can kill many. Tanushree Dutta created a stir with her debut films ‘Aashiq Banaya Aapne’ and ‘Chocolate’. However she still waits that big hit that will settle her in the league of the top heroines of Bollywood. And the opportunity seems to be at hand with Subhash Ghai’s film. We catch up with an excited Tanushree for the interview.
A Subhash Ghai film has fallen in your lap. How do you feel on the achievement?
I’m just beginning my career and doing a film under Subhash Ghai banner is like having a crown on your head. I’m just flying in cloud 9. I would thank Subhashji for giving me the opportunity to work with the Mukta Arts, one of the biggest banners of the country. I’m really grateful to him for choosing me in his film.
Are you grooming yourself to be a part of the project?
Definitely, I’m mentally preparing myself and sorting things out so that I can live up to his expectations. I’m taking care to improve my performance and do better than my former films. This is my first film with him and I want the relation to continue. I would look forward to working in many more projects with him in the future. So I want to give my best with my first film.
Who is your co-star in the film?
I’m again working with Emraan Hashmi, opposite whom I’ve co-stared in my two other films.
How is the equation between the two that the producers are always inclined to pair you both together?
Emraan is very dedicated and professional towards his work. Needless to say that he is very charming too. He respects me and after working with him in two films, I share a comfort level with him. We hit it off and the chemistry works. For a romantic pair the producers are always on a look out for this aspect.
Does you glamorous image come as an obstruction when it comes to rating you as an actress?
I don’t think that the tag of sex symbol or glamour girl can act against you. But if you sideline your acting skills and go ahead only with glamorous role, than maybe the audience will not take you as a serious actress. I want to make a difference and not just go ahead with glamour girl image. I want people to consider me as a good actress too.
You are also working in a Harry Baweja film. How is the shooting progressing?
The shooting is going on smoothly. I’m paired opposite Zayed Khan for the film. He is also a great co-star and is very dedicated towards his work. He is always ready with his takes and always prepared with his dialogues, action before he comes for the shoot. This really makes me nervy working with him.
How do you manage your professional and personal life?
I always have a mindset to give equal importance to both my personal and professional life. I’m focused on my career and also with my personal life. And believe me, managing both is easy.
