Jamali discloses Govt pressure on KBD construction
KANDHKOT—Unveiling important disclosure regarding intricacies of power,
former Prime Minister Mir Zaffarullah Khan Jamali claimed on Friday that
he preferred quitting the office of Prime Minister but did not support
construction of Kala Bagh Dam and operation in Balochistan. Talking to
newsmen at Jamali House on Friday, Jamali said, “ I sacrificed the
office of Prime Minister but not compromised on my principled stand
against KBD and operation in Balochistan”.
“I had no choice but to resign for the sake of interest of people and
would have continued as Prime Minister if had supported KBD and
operation in Balochistan,” he added. He also termed KBD and operation in
Balochistan as threat to integrity, solidarity and unity of the country.
Jamali called upon the government to stop operation and withdraw KBD
project in the supreme interest of country. PML President Shujaat
Hussain and General Secretary Mushahid Hussain should play effective
role in this connection, he said.
The people of Sindh and Balochistan are patriot and should not be hit to
wall due to follies of few miscreants, Jamali urged. The desired results
can not be achieved by subjecting the people of Balochistan to cruelties
and atrocities, the Balochistan imbroglio should be resolved through the
dialogue, he said.
Military operation is not the solution of Balochistan at all, he
observed. In a reply to a question regarding the construction of water
reservoirs, he said, no dam should be constructed without the consensus
of the provinces.—Online
