Serena dipped in shades of X-Mas
By Uzma Zafar

ISLAMABAD—The beauty of Pakistan is that people of various nationalities live in this place that was demanded but, on the basis of Islam, and not only live here and live happily and are free to express themselves, celebrate joy and mourn sorrow as they wish to, in their own sacred way, without any hindrance from the authorities. The Capital, on the other hand, carries masses of various nationalities and is the home to seasoned diplomats. Thus, where on 25th December each year, the nation celebrates Quaid-e-Azam’s birthday, there the Christmas is also celebrated with the same festivity and zeal.
Where the Christian community is busy these days in decorating the Christmas tree, their homes and buying gifts for each other, their Serena Hotel, Islamabad has been, too, dipped in Christmas shades. Wreaths and Christmas trees have been set up at each corner with small decorations dangling from the side like Santa’s smiling face and other symbols. Packed gifts have been placed underneath the tree and in fact, a small Christian child in fact, asked the hotel management innocently, whether the gifts were for real. On the other hand, carols are being arranged to mark the occasion, beginning from today while cakes carrying traditional and sacred Christmas symbols are being prepared at Rakaposhi Restaurant.
Al-Maghrib Restaurant, Zamana Restaurant and the hotel lobby are all said in merry shades, marking Christmas. When praised, the humble management of the hotel praised that the arrangements have been put a bit low, to show solidarity with the earthquake victims. However, it was confirmed that the floor was open for celebrating the event. Christmas at Serena would be the choice for many diplomats as it is just a step away from the Diplomatic Enclave and thus it is the hotel where the diplomats prefer to go from a casual cup of coffee to steamy dinner, for they don’t have to travel much.
So, when Christmas is hopping by, Serena would be the best choice for the Christians to go and have some light hearted fun with Christmas food, a whole look of the event and a feel of the spirit of the day. So stay away from home, yet be right at home with jingle bells all the way, wreath and tree at the day, and let Serena hotel, Islamabad, serve you the Christmas way!
