Pir Pagara backs KBD construction

KARACHI—Chief of Pakistan Muslim League, Functional (PML-F) and
Spiritual leader of Hurs, Pir Pagara, Thursday, said Kalabagh Dam will
benefit people of Sindh including Hurs.
Addressing a press conference here at Kangri House, Pir Pagara said the
construction of Kalabagh dam will enhance availability of water to Sindh.
He sought support of media for creating awareness regarding the
construction of Kalabagh Dam, Reni and Thal canal projects. Pir Pagara
called for implementation on 1991 water accord and said enough water was
agreed for Sindh under the accord.
The PML-F leader criticized Pakistan People’s Party Parliamentarians
(PPP-P) for opposing Kalabagh dam project. He said he had advised Hurs
to support Kalabagh dam project which will benefit them as this is the
first instance in the country that we are talking of our collective
interest, so everyone should support it. Pir Pagara said Zamindars are
not opposing Kalabagh dam and those opposing do not have lands. |
