Pakistan, Korea share common desire for peace, stability in Region:

ISLAMABAD—Speaker National Assembly Chudhary Amir Hussain has said that
Pakistan and the Republic of Korea were bonded in strong cultural and
economic relations, shared their perceptions on global issues and have
common desire for peace and stability in the region as well as in the
world.
He was talking to the Ambassador of the Republic of Korea Kim Jooseok
who called on him at Parliament House on Tuesday.
The speaker said that there were vast opportunities of cooperation
between the two countries in all fields of the economy. He referred the
visits of the President Pervez Musharraf and Prime Minister Shaukat Aziz
to Korea in the recent past saying that it has given impetus to the
strong political and economic ties between the two countries.
He added that exchange of delegations of the parliamentarians of the two
countries will bring the people and both the government further closer
to each other.
The speaker said that the sagacious stable economics policies of
President Musharraf government have expedited the pace of economic
development in the country that opened tremendous opportunities for
foreign investors.
Apprising the Ambassador about the initiatives of the President
Musharraf for establishing peace in the region, Chudhary Amir Hussain
said Pakistan believed in peaceful resolution of all disputes in the
region including the core issue of Kashmir. Resolution of the Kashmir
issue was essential for peace and economic prosperity in South Asia, he
added.
He appreciated the assistance and support of the government and the
people of Republic of Korea for the earthquake victims in AJK and NWFP.
Ambassador of the Republic of Korea Kim Jooseok appreciated the smooth
working of democratic institutions in Pakistan and its economic
achievements in the past six years.
He also respected the role of Pakistani community in the development and
progress of the Korean economy. The Korean investment in Pakistan was
happy sign that will further strengthen the relations between the
countries, he believed. |
