ISLAMABAD—President General Pervez Musharraf Saturday praised the Pakistani cricketers emerging as a remarkable outfit in the current series against England and expressed the hope that they would continue with their winning streak and earn more laurels for the country in the future.
Speaking informally to Pakistani and English cricket teams at a reception, the President also wished England well and looked forward to exciting contest in the remaining One Day Internationals.
“The Pakistani cricketers have gelled wonderfully under their captain and put up a brilliant showing in all departments of the game,” he said while talking to skipper Inzamam ul Haq at the Aiwan-e-Sadr.
President Musharraf said leadership and team spirit are the outstanding factors, which lift a team to highest standards. “The captain has to lead from the front by setting personal example and I am delighted to see the team united and focused under the stewardship of Inzamam, who has been outstanding in the series both as a captain and as a player,” he stated.
