Lohan’s parents reach divorce settlement
Showbiz Desk

NEW YORK—Lindsay Lohan’s parents reached a divorce settlement Monday, ending a contentious marital battle. The agreement to end the 20-year marriage came the same day the trial was scheduled to start. Terms of the deal were confidential, but attorneys for both sides said their clients were happy.
The parents waged a public battle, with the mother suing for divorce and the father asking for a cut of his daughter’s earnings in response. Lindsay Lohan, 19, is the star of such films as “Parent Trap,” “Mean Girls,” “Confessions of a Teenage Drama Queen” and “Freaky Friday.” She reportedly had been hurt by the family strife and reflected on her personal troubles in her music, including the song “Confessions of a Broken Heart,” about a daughter’s abandonment by her father. Michael Lohan is serving a sentence of 1 3/4 years after pleading guilty last May in Nassau County to driving under the influence of alcohol and driving with a suspended license.
