PM lauds Netherlands support for education

ISLAMABAD—Prime Minister Shaukat Aziz has appreciated Netherlands support for basic education during the coming four years. He stated this talking to the Netherlands Minister for development cooperation Agnes Van Ardenne who called on him here on Sunday.
The Netherlands minister announced that his country would give an amount of 35 million US dollars to support basic education in Pakistan.
She said that her country wanted that in Pakistan too, all children should be able to attend the schools. “In coming years, the Netherlands wanted to contributes towards this goal. Special attention would be paid to early childhood education as well as the quality of education and text book”, she added.
She described by the year 2015 there should be education for all children in Pakistan, with equal opportunities for girls and boys . The contribution of Netherlands meant to stimulate provinces in Pakistan to develop and implemented their own education plans, aiming to achieve these millennium development goals, she added.
The Northlands minister also received first hand information about the damages loss due to the killed killer earthquake. She than said that “above all we must enable and empower the people to build their own future and to actively participate to rebuilding their own country.
