‘Turkey considers Pakistan as great friend’

PESHAWAR—The leader of Turkish delegation while Calling on the acting NWFP governor, Justice Tariq Pervez said that Turkey consider Pakistanis as their brothers and with this spirit they rushed to help the Earthquake affected people, says an official handout issued here Saturday.
In fact, he added, this is not the single case as we have remained highly close to each other in the past and in future too our Pakistani brothers would find us with them. The delegates, he added, are mostly the industrial and business magnets dealing in civil engineering, mineral based industries and furniture manufacturing sectors and they are here to look into the possibility to make investments in this area. Apart from this, he added, they also intend to launch educational institutions in this province particularly in the Earthquake affected areas.
It merits mention here that the Turkey is running almost 1400 educational institutions including technical institutes in 82 countries of the world out of which 14 are in Pakistan and only one in this Province which is located in Peshawar. The delegates also took keen interest in the prospects of investments in FATA. Talking to a 28 members visiting delegation the NWFP Acting Governor, Justice Tariq Parvez Khan said that People of NWFP have great regard for the spirit of brotherhood and affection demonstrated by friendly countries that have helped in mitigating the miseries of the quake- affected people to a great extend and further cemented our ties.
The Acting Governor said that indeed the brotherly people of Turkey had played an exemplary role and contributed a lot in the very early days of the disaster that hit the country. This great gesture, he added, would be remembered for a long time to come and our Turkish brothers would always find us shoulder to shoulder with them in any hour of test. Responding to a point, he said, both the countries are enjoying warm relations since long and they have always proved their brotherhood and deep bonds of friendship at every hour of test in the past.
Talking about the future prospects of cooperation at people level particularly in this province as well as in FATA, he said, nature has blessed us with abundance of resources and added that the two countries would share knowledge and technical know how to further explore the enhance cooperation in various fields for the greater interests of the respective people. The Acting Governor also mentioned the role of Turkish Government as well as the industrialists and businessmen towards the promotion of quality education and expressed the hope that their intention to contribute for the establishment of educational institutions in this province particularly in the Earthquake affected areas would definitely be welcomed at every level.—Online
