CIIT holds National Job Fair

ISLAMABAD—The national job fair - organized here on Saturday to help ease increasing unemployment in the country - attracted a large number of students and unemployed youth.
The COMSATS Institute of Information Technology (CIIT) organized this 2nd job fair at its Islamabad Campus with an aim to overcome students' problems in knowing job opportunities in different fields. In all 58 multinationals participated in the fair and established stalls to brief the students about the job prospects in their companies. The students took full advantage of the opportunity and submitted their resumes to their prospective employers. A lot of enthusiasm and interest was exhibited by the final semester students, particularly that of MBA, BCE, BET and BCS disciplines.
Inaugurating the event, Parliamentary Secretary for Sports and Culture Malik Aamir Yar Waran lauded the efforts of CIIT in organizing the Job Fair which holds a great national significance.
He expressed the hope this would help overcome students' problem in knowing job opening and ease unemployment in the country.
The chief guests alongwith MNA Tahir Bashir Cheema also visited an impressive array of different stalls and briefed by the representatives of multinational companies. The CIIT, on the eve of national job fair also hosted a reception in honour of the corporate organizations and multi- national companies at the campus.
Addressing the prospective employers, the Rector CIIT, Dr. Junaid Zaidi said CIIT would hold such a fair twice in a year in which all the CIIT campuses would participate and provide an opportunity to their students to explore new avenues of employment. The companies which mainly attracted the students were Unilever (multinational), ZTE, NCR Corporation, Elixir Tech, Siemens, Touchstone,Dancom, Askari Information System, Bank Alfalah, Davis Pharmaceuticals, Mobilink Alico Pak, Orient Ericcsons, Comcept, HEC, NTS, U-fone, Attock Refinery Limited Islamabad Software Factory, Gogilgent Solutions, Falcon Engineering, SME Bank Limited, Vertex Enterprises and others.
The fair ended with the upbeat mood of the students for having achieved some measure of success in job search.
