22 govt departments owe Rs880.111m to IESCO
ISLAMABAD—Islamabad Electric Supply Company (IESCO) has a total of Rs
880.111 million electricity dues against 22 Government, semi Government
departments and autonomous bodies under the federal government.
According to IESCO-WAPDA press release issued here Saturday, Brig
Shahbaz Azam, Chief Executive Islamabad Electric Supply Company (IESCO)
has decided to disconnect the electric connections of the defaulting
departments by January 1, 2006.
However, the IESCO has advised all the concerned departments to clear
their electricity dues latest by December 31 within banking hours in
their own interest, to avoid disconnection of their electricity
connection.
The departments having dues more than one million including the late
payment surcharge (LPS) upto November 2005 are: GE Services Rawalpindi,
Rs. 286.561+59.526M, Hospital Under Federal Government, Islamabad, Rs.
13.802+4.40IM, Ministry of Federal Education Rs. 5.305+0.518M, Ministry
of Hajj & Auqaf, Rs.6.098+0.898M, Ministry Railway Rs. 6.541+0.029M,
Ministry of Kashmir & Northern Areas Rs. 1.703+4.015M, Ministry of
Health Rs.1.597-0.521M, Income Tax Rs.1.041+0.225M, PWD Rs.
41.637+4.015M, Chief Commissioner Islamabad, Rs.1.670+0.286M, Pak.
Secretariat Rs, 15.214+.675M, Federal Police, Rs.14.619+1.842M, CDA Rs.
