Eid-ul-Azha likely on Jan 11

ISLAMABAD—On the basis of astronomical calculations by Pakistan Meteorological Department there are bright chances of sighting of new moon of Zil Haj 1426 Hijri on the evening of 1st January 2006 therefore there is likely a chance that Eid ul-Zuha would be observed on January 11 2006. The first day of Zilhij would fall on January 02, 2006 subject to confirmation by the Central Ruet-e-Hilal committee, says a Met Office spokesman on Thursday.—Online
