I-15 development work to start next month

ISLAMABAD—The development work on Federal Capital’s new residential sector I-15 will begin from first week of January 2006.
Sources said I-15 would be developed in almost two years, and plots and flats would be allotted to the owners once the development work is completed, hopefully till December 2007. It must be mentioned here that Prime Minister Shaukat Aziz recently launched I-15 for low-income groups after a delay of almost 17 years.
The scheme is launched to provide houses to government employees from Grade 1 to 16 and people with annual incomes not exceeding Rs 150,000, who neither owned nor had been allotted a residential plot, house or flat in Islamabad in their name or in the name of their spouse or children. The CDA has reserved 25 per cent of plots and flats for government servants including employees of autonomous bodies and 29 per cent for armed forces personnel.
Further, it has been told that the sector would have 17 parks, 9 mosques, 10 primary schools, 7 secondary schools, one boys college, one girls college and nine shopping centers. Meanwhile two construction companies have given a formal presentation to CDA officials the other day and briefed the officials regarding construction work of sector I-15.—Online
