I-15 development work to start next month
ISLAMABAD—The development work on Federal Capital’s new residential
sector I-15 will begin from first week of January 2006.
Sources said I-15 would be developed in almost two years, and plots and
flats would be allotted to the owners once the development work is
completed, hopefully till December 2007. It must be mentioned here that
Prime Minister Shaukat Aziz recently launched I-15 for low-income groups
after a delay of almost 17 years.
The scheme is launched to provide houses to government employees from
Grade 1 to 16 and people with annual incomes not exceeding Rs 150,000,
who neither owned nor had been allotted a residential plot, house or
flat in Islamabad in their name or in the name of their spouse or
children. The CDA has reserved 25 per cent of plots and flats for
government servants including employees of autonomous bodies and 29 per
cent for armed forces personnel.
Further, it has been told that the sector would have 17 parks, 9
mosques, 10 primary schools, 7 secondary schools, one boys college, one
girls college and nine shopping centers. Meanwhile two construction
companies have given a formal presentation to CDA officials the other
day and briefed the officials regarding construction work of sector
