MMA dissidents form forward block in NWFP

PESHAWAR—A total of 17 legislators belonging to MMA have formed forward block in NWFP Assembly against the alleged unfair distribution of annual development funds and poor performance of the Provincial Ministers. Announcement to this affect was made by MPA Khalid Waqar Chamkani while talking to mediamen here on Wednesday. MPA Maulana Ibrahim Qasmi is leading the forward block, informed Khalid Waqar. He said the 17 MPAs belonging to MMA held a meeting on Tuesday and observed that they have been deprived of their due right in development funds by the provincial government.
Khalid Waqar Chamkani alleged that the provincial ministers have reserved themselves to their respective constituencies and their performance is poor. In the meeting, he said, the participants took a review of the whole situation and decided to form a forward block.
After the meeting, Khalid continued, the members of forward block met Speaker NWFP Assembly, Bakht Jehan Khan and apprised him of their view point. The speaker, he said, has sought time till December 10 for taking any decision. MPA Khalid Waqar said if speaker did not take any decision, the members of forward block will chalk up their plan of action.—APP
