From Noreen Aslam

BOMBAY — With a ready smile to spark her face, Ayesha Takia just 20 and is all ready to take the world. Just a couple a films old, but she is already giving the message ‘I’ve arrived’. Playing her true sweet and innocent self once again we catch her in film ‘Home Delivery’. Her sweet face dawns on you while her sparkly and bubbly self keep you engrossed. Starring opposite Viveik Oberoi in this film of Sujoy Ghosh, Ayesha plays a cute and very much in love girl. Watch her sizzle in the screen, creating magic all over with her spark in the film.
Excerpts from the Interview:
What is your role in Sujoy Ghosh’s ‘Home Delivery’?
I play an innocent, simple and sweet girl. In brief you can tell that I’m playing my real self in the film. So I enjoyed doing the role thoroughly.
What is the USP of the film?
This is one film you would fall for and would like to watch again and again. There is humour and emotion and the whole package is very sweet. It is sure to make you smile while you watch it and the moments are sure to get etched in your mind. The film also stands out from the rest as it very novel and refreshing. It’s the creative work of Sujoy with an original storyline. The film has young flavor but you can also watch it along with your family.
How was it working with Sujoy?
He is also very new in the industry.
It was a pleasure working with him and I’m very happy that the things went well between us. He has made a film that you’ll like. His way of directing the film is also very different from the rest of the directors I’ve worked before. He has made a beautiful film with all the elements that a moviegoer will enjoy.
How much did you have fun working in the film?
It was a fun vacation you can say. We had fun everyday. I enjoyed a lot working in the film.
You are more inclined towards young films. Why did you go for a film like ‘Shaadi No. 1’?
The first thing that hooked me in ‘Shaadi No. 1’ was the fun factor and the humour attached to it. And who does it better than David Dhawan. So when he approached me with the film and wanted me to be a part of the project, there was no reason to hesitate. I’m also doing another fun comic film ‘Shaadi Se Pehle’ with Satish Kaushik.
You had recently turned down Yash Raj banner’s forthcoming movie ‘Neal ‘N’ Nikki’. Every person has to set their priority straight and I also abide by some things. Lip locking and also vulgar exposure of the body is a complete no-no for me. I was the first choice of the film and also went for the script session. When I heard of the kissing scenes, I immediately turned down the film. I know I had turned a big film down, but I really couldn’t help it. I don’t think I would be comfortable essaying the role and I didn’t like embarrassing my family either.
What are the other films that will get released in sometime?
After Sujoy Ghosh’s Home Delivery, there is Subhash Ghai’s ‘Shaadi Se Pehle’ and Naseeruddin Shah’s ‘Yun Hota To Kya Hota’ coming next.
